The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Maryland promotes appreciation for the people, places and events that led to the formation and development of our country. The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Maryland has been a leader in the field of historic preservation, restoration and interpretation of historic sites. It has also maintained ongoing Patriotic Programs that focus on the people, places and events that lead to the formation of our country, that celebrate the persons who have served our country to present and that continue to inspire patriotism among our fellow citizens.

The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Maryland have been stewards of Mount Clare Museum House, located in in Carroll Park of Baltimore City, since 1917. Mount Clare Museum House features an exceptional collection of decorative arts, paintings, and furniture which educates understanding of life in Maryland since the 18th century: the paradox of hardship amid elegance, and how the past continues to shape life in America today.
